April 26, 2010: The Atkins Investment Group is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. All majors are welcome to apply. There will be approximately 15 open positions that will be filled by new members. April 15, 2010: Dr. Paul Montrone graciously hosted members of the Atkins Investment Group at his Liberty Lane Partners office in Hampton, NH. Dr. Montrone answered questions from the students about business, finance, and succeeding in the marketplace. His insight provided invaluable lessons to the students that will guide them for years to come. Dr Montrone was the former Chairman of the Board and CEO at Fisher Scientific International Inc. and the current Chairman of Liberty Lane Acquisition Corp.

March 25, 2010: Atkins recently added two of UNH's most distinguished alumni to the group's advisory board. James Ben (Barclays Capital) and Brad Flaishans (Morgan Stanley) will join the Board in advising the students on the direction and management of the fund.

March 21, 2010: Atkins members Ben Collins, Adam Cohen, Ryan Guidice, Charles Nettleship, and Silas Proft attended the 10th Annual Redefining Investment Strategy Education (RISE X) at the University of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio. The conference gave the students an opportunity to interact and hear from some of the biggest names on Wall Street.

February 4, 2010: Atkins Board Member David Greenlaw (UNH Class of 1980) was recently awarded the top forecaster of 2009 (with his colleague Dick Berner) in a Wall Street Journal Survey.

January 29, 2010: Hedge Fund Manager and Atkins Board Member Morgan Rutnam recently gave an overview of the current markets and outlook on the future of the global economy. Rutman founded Harvest Capital, LP and Harvest Management LLC. and currently serves as President of Willoughby Capital Management LLC

January 13, 2010: Atkins placed in the top four in the first round, sending members of the group to present in the final round of the challenge. Finals will take place at Putnam Investments in Boston, MA on February 11.

October 27, 2009: Michael J. Hanlon, CFA, Vice President and Portfolio Manager of R.M. Davis, Inc appeared as a guest speaker to the Atkins Economic Analysis Team's presentation. Michael provided insight to the group on portfolio construction and reacting to uncertain economic conditions.

October 5, 2009: "40k Investment Class Pays Dividends" was the title of a recent article in The New Hampshire newspaper. Featured on the front page of TNH's new corporate section, the article outlined the groups history as well as prospects for the future.

September 25, 2009: Members of the Atkins Investment Group have accepted the group's invitation to compete against other New England universities in an equity research competition. The competition is conducted by the Boston Securities Analyst Society. Alumni Dan Fasciano will act as mentor to the Atkins members representing UNH.

February 23, 2009: The Atkins Investment Group is pleased to announce that it has placed 10th in the preliminary round of the CME Group Commodity Trading Challenge, a nationwide competition between student-managed investment groups to trade gold and oil futures. The team was comprised of Atkins members Chris Antliz, Conor O'Keefe, Tom Carter,Ryan Guidice, Clark Dhein, and Ryan Bergeron.

"Atkins Investment Group Holds First Annual Stock Analysis Challenge"

January 27, 2009: The Atkins Investment Group congratulates the Healthcare sector, comprised of Chris Antlitz and Devin Bates, for placing first in the first annual Stock Analysis Challenge, a competition between the two sectors with the best presentations the previous semester. The Consumer Discrtionary Sector, comprised of Jason Norton, Adam Cohen, and Nick Krates, were the runners-up.
